Understanding the geotube installation is essential, especially if you have a plan to use this product as soon as possible. The good thing is that this item is so easy to install. The basic material of Geotube forming material is a polymer that is not resistant to UV rays.

That is why; its construction must also be protected against friction from hitting sharp materials. An example is the stuck logs or the impact of other objects. With consideration of the condition of each part installed by Geotube, the concrete mattress is used for protection.

It is especially on parts that are at risk of impact and geomembrane material on parts that have minimal impact. Besides that, the geotube installation has to be right too.

What Is Geotextile Tube or Geotube

Geotube commonly known as geotextiletube, is a material that resembles a large bag. It also has the shape of a long tube. Made recently from porous geotextiles, Geotubes are widely used in various civil projects.

Usually, this unit is devoted to erosion control. Erosion control techniques with this tube include the creation of dikes, water retaining walls, reservoirs, and stabilization.

Geotube installation on the shoreline is a smart way to protect the coastline that retreats when sea levels rise. This item can also function as the seawalls, such as drying temporary construction areas.

One of the reasons why geotubes must be strong and durable enough is because of their function in order to hold the sand in them. It must also be porous (permeable) so that water trapped in them can escape.

Dewatering is a geotube method used for various needs or applications. With a good drying option, sand can be compacted in one predetermined location.

Besides that, the volume can also be adjusted to raise the concentration of solids. The trick is unique because the amount of water in the bag is drained until it is close to completely dry

The Geotube Installation

The installation of this geotextile tube is not that difficult. However, you should know every step and processes that is needed as follows:

1.     Different Materials

Material concrete mattresses are a composition between two layers of geotextile material which has a function as formwork; with concrete mortar as the filling material.

Geomembrane material is a waterproof thing made of High-Density Polyethylene polymer. It has good resistance to chemicals and UV rays. This material is so flexible.

That is why; when the event of local subsidence, the material will not be damaged and still function properly. Based on its position and elevation, the installation is divided into several types.

2.     Fill the Geotube

The next step for this geotube installation is filling this unit by using a hooper. To do so, flow the filling liquid by using a high-pressure pump into the tube.

The aim is to give a high-pressure water outtake where the pump must have at least 300 m3/hour capacity. Then fill until it reaches the needed capacity based on a construction.

The Geotube Function

Geotubes can function as a construction to prevent erosion and abrasion. Besides that, this material can also be used for waste processing. It is also widely used as a system for treating industrial wastewater.

The dewatering technique, which is usually referred to as a technique for drying primary and secondary sludge originating from production waste, is the most appropriate method using Geotube.

In various industries such as paper and cardboard factories, animal slaughterhouses, palm oil processing, etc, this unit is widely applied. It is because the geotube installation is also simple.
